Der forschungsorientierte Studiengang M.Sc. Information and Communication Engineering lehrt theoretische Grundlagen, Modelle und Anwendungen der Informationsübertragung und -verarbeitung. Dazu gehören sowohl Kommunikationstechniken und Algorithmen als auch Methoden für die mikroelektronische Integration in Hardware / Software-Solutions für die Anwendung in Mobilen-und Multimediakommunikationssystemen usw. Der interdisziplinäre Studiengang richtet sich an deutsche und internationale Studierende, die bereits einen Bachelorabschluss vorweisen können und in einem internationalen Studienkontext mit englischsprachiger Ausbildung einen internationalen Abschluss „Master of Science“ erwerben wollen.

Die Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten für Elektroingenieurinnen und Elektroingenieure sind äußerst vielfältig. An erster Stelle ist in diesem Zusammenhang die Elektro- und Elektronikindustrie zu nennen. Weil die Elektrotechnik in zahlreichen Ingenieurfeldern eine Schlüsseltechnologie darstellt, ist sie in vielerlei Hinsicht eng mit Branchen wie dem Maschinenbau, der Luft- und Raumfahrt, der Automobilindustrie und der Medizintechnik verwoben. Des Weiteren zählen vor allem Unternehmen im Bereich der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik, der Energietechnik sowie der Automatisierungstechnik zu den potentiellen Arbeitgebern von Elektroingenieurinnen und Elektroingenieuren. Darüber hinaus wählt eine bedeutende Anzahl der Absolventinnen und Absolventen für den Berufseinstieg den Weg der Promotion an einer Hochschule oder an einem Forschungsinstitut.

The Master Programme Information and Communication Engineering (iCE) at Technische Universität Darmstadt is a high-level study programme for students intending to pursue a degree with an international focus and aim for higher career goals. The four-semester programme is totally taught in English and designed for outstanding students with Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or closely related disciplines.
This interdisciplinary study program is focused on the theoretical basics, models and applications of information transmission and processing. This includes communication techniques and algorithms, as well as methods for their microelectronic integration in hardware / software solutions with application in mobile and multimedia communication, coding, data compression, security, image processing, medical systems, among others.
Our links with industrial partners and academic researchers (both in ours and other world-class universities) will introduce you to further possibilities during your studies and after that, whether your plan is to find employment or pursue a Ph.D.
